Two Sisters Wine Company
Two Sisters Wines boasts a deep-rooted family history in the Barossa Valley, tracing back to 1843 when Christian Auricht, an ancestor of grower David Braunack, settled in Langmeil, South Australia. The German settlers soon discovered the land’s suitability for winemaking and thus began a long-standing family tradition and legacy.
When Christian Auricht arrived at the banks of the Para River at the age of 26, he quickly got to work. He constructed his first property, “Para View”, and shortly after, established a small vineyard. He could not have anticipated the significant impact that the Barossa Valley would have on the wine industry over the next half-century.
As time passed, 6 generations have continued to produce grapes on the original land settled by Christian Auricht, known as the “Para View Estate”. Since the legacy has been passed down to David Braunack, he has done all in his power to preserve the family tradition, and acquire as much original land and equipment as possible.
David and his business partner, Leon Deans, have invested time and resources into preserving important family historical items, including the old cottage originally built by his ancestors and wine-making equipment dating back to the 1800s – which they plan to restore for selective use.
Today, the Two Sisters Wine company grows most of its fruit on one of the last remaining pieces of land settled by Christian Auricht, and is aptly named after David’s two daughters who will eventually lead the family business, in addition to the coming together of two families to create a unique chapter in SA wine history.
When producing Two Sisters Shiraz, The Braunack and Dean families take several steps to preserve the family history entwined with their wine. For both gentlemen, carrying on these traditions is about more than just preserving heritage it allows them to offer a remarkable bottle of red wine.
The Two Sisters Shiraz is a full-bodied wine that embodies the traditional style of a Barossa Shiraz. Made from grapes grown with care in their Stone Well vineyard, it boasts bold and rich flavours, with sweet earthy notes and a touch of dark berries.
